RIO RANCHO — Santa Fe Prep enters the contest winners of 17 straight contests, dating back to Dec. 13 loss to Class 4A Santa Fe. … Three of four Texico losses this season has been to No. 3-ranked Clayton. Most recetly, the Yellowjackets defeated the Wolverines in the District 4-2A tournament championship game.

FIRST QUARTER: SFP 13, Texico 12

HALFTIME: SFP 30, Texico 18
– SFP begins pulling away. Diego Perea 3-pointer (4:46) gives team a 20-14 lead
– SFP on a 7-2 run. Blue Griffins lead 22-14 (4:06)
– SFP takes first double-digit lead, at 28-18 (1:05)
– The Blue Griffins outscored the Wolverines, 17-6, in the period.
– Diego Perea leads all scorers with nine points. Miguel Reyna is Texico’s leading scorer with eight points.
– SFP dominating the boards with a 23-13 advantage. SFP’s Ian Andersson is the rebounds leader with 12 boards.

THIRD QUARTER: SFP 48, Texico 39
– SFP up 41-39 (3.54)
– SFP takes largest lead of the game (1:43) on a Diego Perea 3-pointer, at 48-33.

FOURTH QUARTER:
– Texico opens period on a 8-0 run. 48-45 (6:04)
– SFP’s William Lenfestey and D.J. Casados with four fouls. Texico’s Miguel Reyna and Gentry Doolittle with four fouls.
– Texico’s Brannon Krager 3-pointer with less 2 minutes left in the fourth pulls Texico to 51-50
– SFP turns the ball over inside the final minute, leading 51-50.
– Texico’s Jonah Walls has the chance to give team the lead but misses two free throws in final 30 seconds.
– SFP’s Diego Perea called for technical foul with 27 seconds left. SFP 51, Texico 50
– Texico’s Miguel Reyna hits two free throws, giving Wolverines their first lead since the opening period, 52-51 (27.0).
– Reyna hits one of two from the line. 53-51 (17.6)
– SFP misses its final two shots.
