ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Gov. Susana Martinez will travel to Nevada today to watch basketball and raise money for her re-election campaign.
The Republican governor and her husband, first gentleman Chuck Franco, will cheer on both the University of New Mexico Lobos and the New Mexico State University Aggies in the teams’ respective conference tournaments, campaign spokesman Danny Diaz said.
While in Las Vegas, Martinez will seek to raise funds for her campaign, Diaz added. The governor was barred from soliciting campaign contributions during this year’s legislative session and the 20-day bill-signing period that followed it.
The governor’s re-election campaign will pay for her travel costs. Martinez is scheduled to return to New Mexico on Sunday.
