Author Edward F. Mendez discusses and signs “One Calamitous Spring: A Novel of Santa Fe” from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Treasure House Books & Gifts, 2012 South Plaza NW in Old Town.
Mendez’s book follows Theodora Mercedes, who has been successful until one April morning when she leaves from Santa Fe to visit her sister in Albuquerque. The springtime that follows is marked by disaster, murder, kidnapping and unearthed family secrets.
At Page One: Journalist and author Dennis Herrick will talk about and sign his book, “Winter of the Metal People” at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at its new location at 5850 Eubank NE Suite B-41 in the Mountain Run Shopping Center. The book is centered on the Tiguex War of 1540-42 in central New Mexico and presents the first account of the war written from the Puebloan point of view.

O’Keefe is author of the book, “Custer, the Seventh Calvary, and the Little Big Horn: A Bibliography,” which is 900 pages long and took nine years to prepare.
