‘Topes today

........................................................................................................................................................................................

Vs. Fresno, 11:05 a.m.

Radio: 610 AM

Promotion: School Day Matinee

Probable starters: Istotopes RHP Carlos Frias (0-1, 10.80) vs. Grizzlies LHP Mike Kickham (1-3, 3.30)

Sunday: Adam Duvall smashed a pair of three-run homers and Fresno roughed up Albuquerque pitching on its way to an 11-5 win in front of 6,471 fans at Isotopes Park. It was the Grizzlies’ third straight victory over the Isotopes.

The ‘Topes survived Duvall’s initial three-run blast in the first inning. RBI doubles by Tim Federowicz and Trayvon Robinson tied the score 3-3 in the bottom of the third. But Fresno plated six runs in the fifth, three of them on Duvall’s second homer, and never looked back.

Joe Panik collected four of the Grizzlies’ 15 hits. Jamie Romak was 2 for 4 with a solo home run for the Isotopes.

This and that: The Isotopes added LHP Paco Rodriguez to their roster as the reliever switched spots with RHP Stephen Fife, who was called up and made a spot start for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. It’s likely to be a short-term move. The Dodgers are expected to activate LHP Clayton Kershaw from the DL this week, and Fife is expected to return to Albuquerque.
