Thursday: Albuquerque blasted five home runs and beat host Fresno 14-8 to begin a four-game series. Joc Pederson and Alex Guerrero both homered twice for Albuquerque, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Jamie Romak hit the other, a two-run shot in a five-run first inning. RHP Carlos Frias (2-1) earned the victory in his third Triple-A start. He allowed six runs on 11 hits in 51/3 innings.

This and that: Catcher Miguel Olivo rejoined Albuquerque on Thursday, while catcher John Cannon was sent to extended spring training.
