The popular Albuquerque consignment boutique launched a second location earlier this month at 6200 Coors NW, two doors down from Albertsons in Montaño Plaza.
The new store is 1,900 square feet — about 50 percent larger than the original shop owner Jasmine Baillio opened about 10 years ago at Academy and San Mateo NE.
“We have just an amazing following, and we have so many people from the West Side that said, ‘Oh, you’ve got to come over here!'” Baillio said.
Though Baillio believes the new shop will cater to a somewhat younger clientele than her East Side store and therefore stock some generally less-expensive brands, she said it will have the same feel and operating philosophy. That means dealing only in women’s clothing and accessories that are in excellent condition and the current style, she said.
It’s a philosophy that has resonated so far. Baillio said What Goes Around has built a network of nearly 1,400 consigners and that she gets in about 1,000 new items every week.
The high turnover rate is “exciting,” Baillio said. “It keeps things new every day.”
What Goes Around will celebrate its new West Side location with a ribbon-cutting and other grand-opening festivities on Saturday, June 7.
