‘Topes today

........................................................................................................................................................................................

At Omaha, 6:05 p.m.

Radio: 610 AM

Probable starters: Isotopes RHP Zach Lee (5-7, 4.86 ERA) vs. Storm Chasers RHP Sugar Ray Marimon (5-3, 3.44 ERA)

Wednesday: The Albuquerque Isotopes (33-40) scored five runs in the ninth inning to beat the host Omaha Storm Chasers (41-32) 10-5, for their second win in the four-game series.

With the score tied 5-5 in the top of the ninth, Delvis Morales reached first on a dropped third strike. Trayvon Robinson singled to left, allowing Morales to advance to third. Joc Pederson plated Morales with a sacrifice fly, and then the floodgates opened. Clint Robinson walked and Tim Federowicz hit the first of back-to-back home runs, a three-run jack to left. Alex Liddi promptly followed with a long ball to put the ‘Topes up 10-5.

This and that: Clint Robinson’s two-run home run in the sixth inning was his sixth long ball in the last 13 games. He now has 14 on the season. It was also his 20th and 21st RBIs in the last 20 games. He has 52 RBIs through 73 games.

… Federowicz’s and Liddi’s back-to-back home runs marked the fourth time Albuquerque has accomplished the feat this season, and Liddi has been the second long ball in the sequence the last two times.

Next home game: June 26 vs. Reno, 7:05 p.m.
