Santa Fe police have identified as the bicyclist who was struck and killed by a Rail Runner train in Santa Fe on Monday morning as Joseph Salazar, 41.

Salazar has an Española address but he may have been living in Santa Fe or a frequent visitor to the area, police said.

Photographs released by police on Wednesday of some of Salazar’s personal belongings lead police to his identity.

Santa Fe Police are still investigating the accident. Salazar was not wearing a helmet or headphones during the crash. The accident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on St. Michael’s Drive and the Rail Runner crossing.
