DALLAS — Rio Rancho golfer Dominique Galloway shot a 5-under-par 66 on Friday, pulling away from the field to win a PGA Junior Series event at The Golf Club of Dallas.

The victory qualifies Galloway, 16, for the Junior PGA Championship, scheduled for July 29-Aug. 1 at Miramont Country Club in Bryan, Texas.

Galloway led after each of three rounds in the Dallas tournament. Her 54-hole score of 209 was eight shots better than that of runner-up Kaitlyn Papp of Austin, Texas.

She and her sister, Jacque, 14, already have qualified for the USGA Women’s Public Links Championships, scheduled for July 14-19 in DuPont, Wash.

Dominique Galloway, who attends Cleveland High School, is the reigning New Mexico Class 5A girls golf champion.
