Horror in Santa Fe’s Railyard

........................................................................................................................................................................................

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — rocky

It’s just one costume contest after another in Santa Fe.

But this one comes with props: bird seed, water pistol, newspaper, flashlight, rubber gloves and much, much more.

Yes, folks, the very blond Adonis Rocky Horror is rearing his head once again, courtesy of Dr. Frank-N-Furter — and the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. The cult classic will be screened at 8 p.m. Saturday (July 12) — the virgin initiation starts at 7 p.m. — in the Railyard Park. The “most elaborate costume” competition offers prizes such as restaurant gift certificates and tickets to the Oct. 15-19 film festival.

This free event also includes a “shadow cast” from Rocky Horror New Mexico and an after-party at the Palace Bar & Saloon. I wonder what our visiting international folk artists will think if they stumble across the event.
