ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police arrested a man Saturday after he fired shots at a 19-year-old woman and her child and two young siblings in an apparent road rage incident, according to a criminal complaint.
Police arrested Daniel Rozzi, 31, on suspicion of three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and three counts of child abuse. He was jailed on a $75,000 cash or surety bond.
The woman was driving south on the Interstate 25 frontage road at Mountain on Saturday afternoon when she saw a car barreling down the road behind her at a high speed, according to the complaint. She pulled her vehicle into the intersection to avoid a collision and a woman driver and Rozzi in the passenger seat pulled up next to her. The woman asked if Rozzi and his driver were on drugs, according to the complaint.
As the victim continued to drive, she later told police she heard gunshots and saw flashes coming from the passenger side of the car. She fled through a red light at the frontage road and Lomas.
The other driver allegedly drove through the intersection as well and caused a crash, according to the complaint. It did not appear that anyone was seriously injured.
