One of the more eye-catching holes on a well-manicured course in the Northern New Mexico mountains. This narrow, relatively short par 4 (372 yards from back tees, 362 from white) requires a straight tee shot and an accurate approach to an undulating green. The elevated tee box provides a clear view (unusual on a course filled with doglegs and blind approaches) and invites long hitters to try their luck. But pine trees line both sides of the fairway to penalize wayward tee shots. A few pines also guard the right, front portion of the green, so an ideal approach comes from the left. There are no sand traps at Pendaries but flying this green brings more pines into play. Yardages require adjustment here as the course elevation ranges from 7,500 to 8,000 feet.
