Summerfest time in the city

........................................................................................................................................................................................

Nob Hill’s streets were lined with musicians, street performers, food stands and classic cars Saturday for one reason: Albuquerque’s Route 66 Summerfest celebration.

Hundreds flocked to the annual event that closed down Central Avenue from Girard to Washington.

Three stages were set up for local bands, along with musicians from the New Mexico Jazz Festival, which helps host the festivities.

Attendees could shop from local vendors, eat from food trucks and see classic cars, or stop at the microbrew garden to sample local beer.

More than 100 musicians performed, and an original Batmobile even made an appearance at the all-day affair.
