ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A 30-year-old Albuquerque man is accused of robbing his father with a knife after he posted threatening messages on the man’s Facebook page.
Thomas Korman is charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated assault on a household member, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, criminal damage to property and robbery, according to court records.
Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a frantic call from a home in the 10300 block of Eagle Ranch Road on Friday evening.
A woman said her son was threatening and possibly stabbing her husband, according to the criminal complaint.
Robert and Mary Korman, Thomas’ parents, told police their son broke a window with a rock and got in the house. They said he robbed Robert of $500 and his vehicle, according to the complaint.
Earlier on Friday, the Kormans called 911 to report their son had posted “I’m putting you on the cross next time” and “not for thrills, not a drill, tonight my father I will kill” on Robert Korman’s Facebook page, according to the complaint.
According to the complaint, Robert Korman told investigators that his son uses heroin and may have been drinking alcohol prior to the incident. Robert Korman also said his son may be bipolar.
Korman had left his parents’ home by the time deputies arrived. He was arrested and booked into jail Saturday night, according to jail records.
