A man accused of a drunken-driving accident that killed a 30-year-old woman and her infant child was indicted by a Bernalillo County grand jury Monday on three felony charges, officials said.
Carlos Rosales-Polanco, 41, was arrested July 26 after he allegedly lost control of a car and crashed into a utility pole at Coors and Gun Club SW, Second Judicial District Attorney Kari Brandenburg’s office said in a written statement.
Rosales-Polanco was indicted Monday on charges of homicide by vehicle, child abuse resulting in death, and child abuse not resulting in death, the statement said. He remained in the Bernalillo County jail Monday on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
The accident killed Adriana Chavez-Miranda, 30, and her 1-year-old child, and injured the baby’s 10-year-old sibling. Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputy allege Rosales-Polanco was intoxicated and speeding at the time of the accident, the statement said.
