Man killed in semi-truck crash identified

........................................................................................................................................................................................

Alfred Jefferson was the man killed in a semi-truck crash Aug. 6 on Interstate 40 near Grants.

New Mexico State Police said a big rig carrying passenger cars had a tire blow out, and the truck veered across the highway, struck a guardrail and overturned. Another semi-truck slowed to a stop and was struck by a third truck carrying diesel fuel, which set the trucks on fire.

Jefferson, 58, or Red Rock, was driving one of the semi-trucks involved in the crash. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
