The three Albuquerque teens accused of the savage beating deaths of two homeless men July 19 have pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Alex Rios, 18, Nathaniel Carrillo, 16, and Gilbert Tafoya, 15, pleaded not guilty. Court documents detail how the teens allegedly used cinder blocks, bricks, sticks, a metal fence post, as well as their hands and feet, to take turns bludgeoning the men beyond recognition.
Judge Alisa Hadfield increased their bonds to $1,000,000 apiece, citing the severity of the crime, according to the DA’s office.
The victims were later identified as Allison Gorman and Kee Thompson, both Navajo, who were found dead on a mattress in a vacant lot near 60th and Central Avenue.
