Cruise Night on the Plaza is so slow, it’s stationary

SANTA FE, N.M. — It’s Cruise Night on the Plaza, and vehicles of all sizes, hues and vintages are lining the surrounding streets.

Of course, maybe it should be called Parking Night, since they’re just sitting there, many with hoods open and engines exposed for inspection by the passing aficionados. The traditional cruise nights, with low-riders inching along checking out each other and pedestrians, often with music blasting, have been quelled.

Too uncivilized, apparently, for today’s we-don’t-want-to-offend-any-tourists Plaza.
