Santa Fe resident and author George R.R. Martin got a little nagging on national TV last night.

Actually, it was a lot of nagging and probably had an international audience.

Andy Samberg and “Weird Al” Yankovic concluded a spoof of television theme songs on the Emmy Awards last night with a tribute to “Game of Thrones”‘ that ended in a repeated plea to Martin to write more, write more, write more scripts (“write them faster, write them faster”).

Martin, all spiffed up in a tux in the audience, then was presented with an old, black manual typewriter, whose keys he dutifully pecked at for a few seconds while the camera was on him.

Here are the words to that portion of the song, found on the Huffington Post website:

Here comes

Dragons galore

And some boobs

Okay

To be fair, there’s way more boobs

If you

Miss a big scene

Watch it back

(Watch it over, watch it over, watch it over)

Hope you

Paid attention

To the map

(You can pause that, you can pause that, you can pause that)

Don’t get

Too attached to

A certain guy

(Have a backup, have a backup, have a backup)

He might

Drink some poisoned wine

(That’s a spoiler, that’s a spoiler, that’s a spoiler!)

So type, George

Type as fast as you can

We need more scripts

Type, George

Fast as arrows can fly

We need more scripts

(Write them faster, write them faster, write them faster)

Write them faster, write them faster, write them faster, write them faster

Valar morghulis!
