The 2012 New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards is looking for some exceptional individuals, nonprofits and businesses.
Nominations for Samaritan Counseling Center’s 2012 New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards are being accepted through 5 p.m. Aug. 5.Â
The awards are an annual recognition of for-profit businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals whose present or past work in New Mexico demonstrates the highest ethical conduct and social responsibility. Â
The nomination form and criteria for selection are available online at www.ethicsinbusinessNM.com or by calling the Samaritan Counseling Center at 505-842-5300.
Award categories are:
♦ Jack and Donna Rust Award for Excellence in Ethical Business Practice by a For-Profit Business.
♦ Paul and LaDonna Hopkins Award for Excellence in Ethical Practice by a Nonprofit Organization.
♦ PNM Award for Individual Excellence in Ethical Business Practice, in honor of John Ackerman.
♦ Bill Daniels Award for Ethical Entrepreneurship.
The Samaritan Counseling Center each year partners with the UNM Anderson School of Management for nominee analysis and reporting to an independent community selection committee.
As part of the Anderson School’s business ethics course curriculum, students perform an in-depth analysis of nominations and prepare nominee reports for the independent selection committee, a group of volunteer New Mexico business leaders.
By recognizing companies, organizations and individuals who give leadership in ethical business practice, the center continues to support a more ethical community while also raising funds for the Center’s Good Samaritan Fund, which provides financially assisted counseling services to the community.
The Samaritan Counseling Center is a not-for-profit organization which helps people in central New Mexico find wholeness and healing through professional psychological counseling and education.
The center’s work integrates medical, spiritual and community resources and is staffed by professional therapists in four locations in the greater Albuquerque area.
The Monday Business Outlook is the regular media sponsor of the program.
