APD Officer Resigns After Weekend DWI Arrest

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An Albuquerque police officer resigned Monday morning after she was arrested for drunk driving over the weekend.
April Sanchez, 30, allegedly went to a casino on Saturday, lost some money, drove to her ex-husband’s house — who also happens to be an APD officer — refused to leave, got mad and keyed his car.
At that point her ex-husband, Sgt. Art Sanchez, called police.
Responding officers gave April Sanchez sobriety tests and ended up arresting her and charging her with aggravated DWI and damaging property.
