A two-hour SWAT stand-off ended peacefully when a woman accused of assaulting her sister with a gun turned herself into authorities, police said.
The Albuquerque police SWAT team was called out to a house on the 9400 block of Osuna Place NE around 6:15 p.m. after a woman reported her sister had brandished a gun at her during an argument, police said.
The sister was able to get out of the house, but the woman, who was not identified, barricaded herself inside.
The woman, who is 49 years old, finally surrendered shortly after 8 p.m. Officers found a gun in the house.
Police said nobody was injured, and the woman was being questioned as of late Tuesday night. She will likely be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
This was the second SWAT situation in the city in the past two days.
