ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Solar photovoltaic panels are being installed at the ABQ airport’s parking structure

The Federal Aviation Administration is releasing $2 million for continued installation of solar photovoltaic panels at the parking structure at the Albuquerque International Sunport, Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., said Tuesday in a news release.

The federal government has previously contributed at least $2.4 million toward the cost of the ongoing project, according to the news release.

“This worthy project is helping the Sunport generate power and reduce its operating costs,” Bingaman said.
