UPDATED: Teen Dies in Rollover Crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police are now saying a 16-year-old boy has died in an accident near Comanche and San Mateo.

An SUV and a sedan carrying four teenagers collided early this afternoon, causing the sedan to spin into a pole, police said. The passenger who was killed was in the backseat.

The other three teenagers involved in the collision were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Albuquerque police spokeswoman Officer Tasia Martinez said.

At this time police are unsure of who is at fault. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, police said.


1:18 p.m. — Albuquerque police and fire departments have responded to a rollover crash in the area of Comanche and San Mateo where a child has been injured.

Emergency personnel have taken the child to a local hospital. The child was not breathing, but had a faint pulse, according to Albuquerque police spokeswoman Officer Tasia Martinez.

There are no further details at this time.
