The House gallery is packed and lawmakers have finished exchanging pleasantries as the New Mexico Legislature has officially started a 30-day regular session.

House members are currently signing the roster for the session.

A number of dignitaries, including Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Daniels, Auditor Hector Balderas, Treasurer James Lewis and U.S. Sen. Tom Udall are among the guests in attendance.

Members of the state Senate will soon be coming to the House of Representatives, where Gov. Susana Martinez will deliver her State of the State address.

Below is a scene from the gallery.
