The woman was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by her husband when the motorcycle hit an elk in northern New Mexico
A Colorado women was killed and her husband critically injured when the motorcycle they were riding struck an elk in northern New Mexico, according the State Police.
Lt. Eric Garcia, State Police spokesman, said Monday the crash occurred shortly before midnight on Friday on U.S. 285 in northern Taos County.
Kery M. Sims, 53, of Castle Rock, Colo., was driving the 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and his wife, Jill E. Sims, 56, was a passenger when the crash occurred, Garcia said in a telephone interview. Both were ejected from the southbound motorcycle and were taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, where Jill Sims died.
Garcia said the elk was killed.
