Journal Staff Report

The Human Resources director for the city’s transit department was arrested Monday after showing up 20 minutes late for her arraignment for not licensing her dog, Bernalillo Metro Court spokeswoman Janet Blair said.

Blair said Selinda Guerrero arrived after Judge Henry Alaniz had already issued a bench warrant and set a $1,000 cash-only bail.

Guerrero was unable to make bail and was temporarily put in a holding cell.

She was also due to appear later in the day before Judge Judith Nakamura for a pre-trial conference on a driving while intoxicated charge, Blair said.

Guerrero was later booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center. Her attorney Lauren Oliveros said she was scheduled to appear in Metro Court at 9:30 a.m. today for a misdemeanor custody arraignment in connection with Monday’s arrest.
