ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Anyone receiving a text that claims to be from Kirtland Federal Credit Union is being advised not to respond

The state Attorney General’s Office is advising people not to respond to texts claiming to be from Kirtland Federal Credit Union.

The AG’s Office said in a news release Monday that Kirtland Federal Credit Union reports that it is aware of a text messaging scam circulating in the Albuquerque area alleging to be from the credit union.

The fraudulent text says, “Your Kirtland Federal Credit Union Visa check card starting with #### has been temporarily blocked. Call 990-0360.”

The news release said anyone receiving this type of text should not respond.

Kirtland Federal Credit Union does not text its members or request information by e-mail or telephone, according to the news release.
