Victoria's Secret call center announces 360 new jobs

By Amanda Stevens
Journal Staff Writer
RIO RANCHO —The Victoria's Secret call center here has announced plans to add about 360 new employees for sales and customer service positions.
"We're already hiring some of those people and some people are in training right now," said Bev McMillan, director of sales for the center. "The last group will come through in the last week of October, about 200 of those positions are remaining."
About 120 of the new positions will be for seasonal employees, she said.
"We're getting ready for the holiday season," she said. "We want to make sure we are meeting our customer service levels and make sure the customer is responded to in a timely manner and that we are giving them great service and a great experience."
The new hires will give the call center a total of about 700 employees, McMillan said.
The job openings will be especially helpful to the community because of the country's current economic state, she said.
"I hope (the new position openings) would mean some stability and confidence levels for us to get back to normal because we're dealing with gravity issues, so hopefully this is that sunshine or that ray of hope," she said.
The call center, which takes an average of 10,000 calls per day, has been in Rio Rancho since 1997 and recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a special guest, model Adriana Lima.
The company is especially looking for bilingual employees, she said.
"We just launched our espanol.victoriassecret.com, which is our Spanish Web site for our Spanish customers," McMillan said.
Applicants must be more than 18 years old and previous sales or customers service experience is beneficial, but not required, she said.
"I'm looking for enthusiastic, committed associates," McMillan said.
To apply, visit the "career opportunities" section of www.limitedbrands.com or apply in person at the center at 7001 Zenith.
