P&M of Mountainair will add 70 jobs in Estancia Valley
Journal Staff Report
The New Mexico Economic Development Department recently announced that P&M signs located in Mountainair is planning an expansion and will create 70 new jobs for the Estancia Valley.
"We are so pleased to be able to announce so many new jobs. Despite our bleak national economy New Mexico continues to expand and grow and we hope that this trend will continue," Cabinet Secretary Fred Mondragón said in a statement.
Once the expansion is completed, P&M will have doubled the size of its current operation to over 11,500 square feet and will expand its staff by creating 70 new jobs. Currently P&M employs 17 full-time craftspeople in the manufacturing of signs.
"Congratulations are in order to P&M for their proactive approach to partnering with the state, and to the Business Development team for their diligence and creativity throughout this process," said Mondragón.
A family-owned, small disadvantaged business located in rural Mountainair, P&M Signs, Inc. has been manufacturing signs for federal, state, municipal and county governments, private businesses and individuals since 1992.
For the past 10 years, it has supplied signs to U.S. Forest Service and National Parks Service facilities across the country.
