N.M. Gives $1.2M in Job Training Funds

    The Job Training Incentive Program awarded $1.2 million in job training funds to seven companies during its most recent monthly meeting.
    Recipient companies included:
   
  • Rudolph Technologies, headquartered in Flanders, N.J., and which plans to manufacture parts for semiconductor testing instruments at a new plant in Albuquerque, will use $198,079 to create 11 jobs.
       
  • Nanopore Inc., of Albuquerque, which makes high-tech insulation and packaging materials, will use $44,212 to train 15 new employees.
       
  • Sunbaked Biscuits, an Alamogordo snack manufacturer, will use $147,170 to train 50 new employees.
       
  • Tapetes de Lana, of Mora, a maker of hand-woven woolen goods, as well as wool processing tools, aims to use $37,608 to hire and train 10 new employees.
       
  • MPS Inc., a Bernalillo County bath and body product manufacturer, will use $32,948 to train four new employees.
       
  • Albuquerque-based Eclipse Aviation, which is building a $1.3 million, twin-engine jet aircraft, will use $613,970 to train 90 new employees.
       
  • Exagen Diagnostics, an Albuquerque company developing diagnostic technology for breast cancer and hepatitis C, which will use $154,103 to hire and train 13 new employees.
        The Job Training Incentive Program, which is administered by the state's Economic Development Department, reimburses companies for a portion of training costs provided they meet certain criteria and are doing business in New Mexico.
        The group's Friday meeting was held in Mora.
