Hispanic Business magazine has ranked four New Mexico businesses in the 100 fastest-growing Hispanic-owned companies nationwide.
A Las Cruces consulting firm, a Santa Fe computer company and two Albuquerque computer networking businesses made the 2006 list, which appears in the July-August issue of the magazine, now on newsstands.
The list ranked U.S.-based companies that are 51 percent Hispanic-owned based on the growth in sales over a five-year period from 2001 through 2005, said Mike Caplinger, research supervisor for Hispanic Business magazine, based in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Zia Engineering & Environmental Consultants of Las Cruces, which provides medical and computer services, has the highest ranking for a New Mexico business, in 22nd place. Zia's sales increased over the five years from $753,000 in 2001 to $6.35 million in 2005, the magazine said.
Santa Fe-based Wildflower International, a computer hardware and software company, is ranked 44th. It's sales grew 353 percent, from $10.5 million in 2001 to $47.6 million in 2005.
Networx Inc. of Albuquerque is ranked 64th. Its sales increased 229 percent, from $2.2 million in 2001 to $7.25 million in 2005.
Integrated Control Systems Inc., also of Albuquerque, came in 100th. The company saw sales grow from $5.5 million to $13.3 million in 2005, a 141 percent increase.
New Mexico companies have been on the magazine's list almost every year since it began in 1986, Caplinger said.
