Athlete Curtis Beach Sets Another Record Permalink comment E-mail

Curtis Beach at the Journal. Photo by Morgan Petroski.Albuquerque Academy graduate Curtis Beach continues to dominate track & field at the national level after winning the USA Junior Track & Field Championships on Friday.

He scored 7,599 points to win the decathlon, setting an American record with junior implements. He also broke his own junior world record for the 1500-meter run in a decathlon with a time of 4 minutes, 7.85 seconds, reports the Register-Guard.

This win (and record) comes after his records with high school and international implements. Beach said, "After I got the (international) record I was going for the trifecta, I guess you could say. Man, I’m really happy about it. This caps off the year well.”
