The closure will take place from Cutler to Indian School in the I-40 area from 9 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. Friday.

Also, from 9 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. Friday, eastbound I-40 from Carlisle to Washington will be reduced to one lane to switch traffic onto new lanes.

And, the new I-40 eastbound off ramp to north- and south-bound San Mateo will be opened by Friday, according to a state Department of Transportation traffic advisory. The old I-40 loop ramp for northbound San Mateo will be closed permanently.
