Lawyers will provide people with access to free, limited legal consultations on wide range of issues

Two free community legal clinics will be held in Albuquerque next week.

The state Attorney General's Office announced Friday in a news release that the clinics will be held on Monday at the Cesar Chavez Community Center, 7505 Kathryn Ave. SE, and on Thursday at the West Mesa Community Center, 5500 Glenrio Rd. NW. Both clinics are scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The AG Office's Consumer Protection Division (CPD) is partnering with the 2nd Judicial District Pro Bono Committee, University of New Mexico School of Law, The Albuquerque Partnership, ENLACE New Mexico and the city Albuquerque's Department of Family & Community Services to provide the free clinics, according to the news release.

The CPD will offer consumers information and educational materials regarding tips for avoiding foreclosure, fair debt collection and foreclosure scams. Members of the bar will be available to provide people with access to free, limited legal consultations on issues of immigration, consumer, family law, creditor/debtor, landlord/tenant, guardianship, bankruptcy, foreclosures and public benefits, the news release said.
