The suspects were taken into custody Tuesday morning near Bosque School in Albuquerque; School was on lockdown for a short time
Three people who were in a vehicle that had been reported stolen were arrested by Albuquerque police Tuesday morning after the driver of the vehicle intentionally struck a police vehicle at Coors and Montano when officers attempted to the pull over the stolen vehicle, police spokeswoman Nadine Hamby said.
Hamby said in a news release that the officers were able to apprehend the three people, two males and a female, near Bosque School. She said the school was put on lockdown for a short time while the three people were taken into custody.
The investigation was continuing, but Hamby said the three people are facing several felony charges.
The incident began when Albuquerque officers on routine patrol near Interstate 40 and 98th Street located the vehicle that had been reported stolen in the county earlier Tuesday morning, Hamby said. The officer who was in the police vehicle that was rammed was taken to a hospital to be examined.
