California sportswriter Scott Galetti will replace Mike Roberts, radio stations are reporting.

Scott Galetti, a sportswriter with the Pasadena Star News who has broadcast college and high school sports, is expected to be named today to replace Mike Roberts as the new voice of University of New Mexico men's athletics, 770 KKOB Radio and KNML-AM 610 The Sports Animal are reporting.

Galetti, who is based in Oxnard, Calif., was one of two finalists interviewed by UNM to replace Roberts, who was ousted in April after four decades of covering Lobos football and men's basketball, the Albuquerque Journal has reported.

The other finalist was Russ Langer, a former KKOB employee who was play-by-play man for the former Albuquerque Dukes and is currently doing play-by-play for the Las Vegas (Nev.) 51s minor league team, the Journal has reported.

Galetti, 47, who is currently covering prep sports for the Pasadena paper, grew up in Southern California and has done play-by-play for Long Beach State and Cal-State Northridge universities as well as minor league hockey and women's professional basketball, the Journal has reported.
