A man is in custody for the shooting, but deputies are still investigating.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene of the shooting near Carnuel and I-40 at about 2:40 p.m. Saturday, where they found the victim already dead, BCSD spokeswoman Erin Kinnard Thompson said.

The names of both the victim and the man taken into custody have not yet been released.

Kinnard Thompson said the man in custody is the "shooter."
