A woman driving southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 84/285 was killed when her car hit two oncoming cars head-on around 10:30 this morning, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Capt. Terrence Delgado told ABQjournal.com. The accident occurred near the Camel Rock exit in Cuyamungue.

One person in one of the other cars was seriously injured and airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, Delgado said.

Deputies are still on the scene investigating the crash, and no names have been released yet.

The main lanes of the highway remain closed, but traffic is being diverted to northbound and southbound frontage roads, Delgado said.

"It's really slow going," he said.
