Traffic slowed to a crawl between Comanche and Lomas.

8:20am UPDATE: The Lomas exit from southbound Interstate 25 is expected to reopen around 8:45 a.m., and all southbound lanes remain open, but traffic continues to move slowly, Albuquerque Police Department spokesman John Walsh tells ABQjournal.com.

7:40am UPDATE: A southbound vehicle on Interstate 25 made an abrupt turn to exit at Lomas around 6:15 this morning, hitting another vehicle and rolling over, killing a female passenger and sending the driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Albuquerque Police Department spokesman John Walsh tells 770 KKOB Radio.

The exit at Lomas is expected to be closed for another two hours, KKOB reported.

Accident cleanup is causing major delays on southbound Interstate 25, slowing traffic from the Lomas exit which is closed all the way back to Comanche, according to 770 KKOB Radio's traffic reporter "Helen (Hell On) Wheels."

Roads in the immediate vicinity, including the southbound frontage road, are affected, so commuters beware, KKOB reported.

The accident appears to involve a fatality.
