Public Meeting Tonight Seeks Input

Today the Mid-Region Council of Governments will host the first of three meetings to take public comment on the draft 2030 Metropolitan Transportation Plan.

The plan, which looks as far ahead as 2030, proposes spending more than $5.7 billion in the metropolitan area on upkeep as well as new capital projects, including mass transit, adding more capacity to roadways and improving bike and pedestrian accommodations.

The draft 2030 Metropolitan Transportation Plan is up for public review before it goes to the Metropolitan Transportation Board for approval. A copy is posted at www.mrcog-nm.gov

Public meetings on the plan will be held:
5:30-7:30 p.m. today, at the Mid-Region Council of Governments offices, 809 Copper NW;

6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Sandoval County Judicial Complex Sheriff's Office Training Room, 1500 Idalia Road, Rio Rancho;

6-8 p.m. April 18 at the Los Lunas School Board Chambers, 119 Luna Avenue.
