High-speed chase ended in death of 32-year-old Farmington man.

Authorities have identified the driver of a two-door Saturn that flipped Monday on N.M. 575 near Navajo Dam following a police pursuit as Fabian Lucero, 32, of Farmington, the Farmington Daily Times reported on its Web site.

A motorist called emergency dispatchers Monday to report a suspected drunken driver on N.M. 173 near Aztec, the paper reported.

Aztec police and a San Juan County sheriff's deputy gave chase, and the driver in the Saturn sped up to "well over 100 mph," police told the Daily Times.

The driver made a turn onto N.M. 575 heading toward Blanco, and the car flipped, ejecting the driver, who was killed at the scene, according to the paper.

State Police said bottles of alcohol and drug paraphernalia were found inside the car, and authorities are awaiting a toxicology report from the the Office of the Medical Investigator to determine whether alcohol played a role in the crash, the Daily Times reported.

Lucero, according to the paper, was wanted on an outstanding warrant, accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana and methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
