ABQ's early risers will find something strange falling from the sky.

It's not exactly raindrops falling on our head. And it hardly rises to the level of drizzle. But the light sprinkling of wet stuff in the Albuquerque area is a welcome treat in a dry season -- maybe a sign of things to come as strong storms on the Pacific Coast make their way eastward this weekend.

With mudslides and torrential rains to the west of us, tinder-dry conditions and raging grass fires to the east of us, it's once again time to count our blessings. Weather-wise, at least,  New Mexico IS the Happy Medium.
