Consider traveling the Continental Divide Trail this summer
In 1978, Congress secured the future of the most scenic, wild and remote landscapes in America. They designated the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDT), also known as the “King of Trails.” The vision for the CDT is a 3,100-mile primitive and challenging backcountry trail from Canada to Mexico along the backbone of America. Approximately 70% of the trail is usable. To celebrate the trail, Buena Vista, Colo., is hosting TrailFest 2007 on July 21. Free guided “Get on the Divide” adventures will let you experience some of the most spectacular mountains, panoramic views and beautiful landscapes on the Trail. You get to choose your mode of transport…hiking, mountaineering, mountain biking, llama and goat trekking…and the level of difficulty thats right for you. Check out the full list of events here.
