Check that tube of ground beef in your freezer

Some Smith's and Albertson's stores in New Mexico were apparently involved in selling ground beef that is being realled by the United Food Group LLC because of possible E coli bacteria contamination.

The beef was sold under the brand names Moran's All Natural, Stater Bros., and Inter-American Products, Inc. It was available at Albertson's, Grocery Outlet, Fry's, Save-A-Lot, Save-Mart, Smart and Final, Smith's, and Stater Bros., in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and Montana.

The beef was sold in chubs, or tubes of fresh ground beef, and not frozen hamburger patties or package trays of fresh ground beef .

Packages have an establishment number inside their U.S. Department of Agriculture mark of inspection of "1241" and a production date of April 20, 2007, a sell-by date of May 6, 2007 and a freeze-by date of May 7, 2007.

Products matching that description should be brought back to stores to determine whether it is subject to recall.

Anyone with questions may call United Food Group's 24-hour toll-free hotline at (800) 325-4164.
