Crews battle 50 mph gusts Nearly 3,000 electric utility customers in San Juan County were without power Wednesday morning for up to three hours as crews attempted to repair circuits while fighting 50- to 60-mph wind gusts.

Three separate incidents caused the outages in Farmington and Bloomfield, beginning with the morning commute.

"It was havoc on Main Street between 7:30 and 8 a.m.," said Steven Henson, system operations manager for electric utility in Farmington. "Traffic was the most affected. The police were out directing traffic, but it is my understanding the intersection at Main and Browning was the worst."

Here's the story from the Farmington Times
