Will a new round of stormy weather bring us some relief?

If you live in Carlsbad, Las Cruces or Farmington you can expect another day of 100-degree temperatures, but we won't be far behind in the Albuquerque area where the thermometer will be pushing triple digits.

But that should start to diminish with strong canyon winds expected to kick up this afternoon and the possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon but more likely tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

For the rest of the week we can expect to see temperatures topping out around 90, maybe even down to the high 80s, but a good chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms through Saturday, the weather service says.
