El Paso man pleads to charges in Chaparral boy's molestation.

Ronald McKnight, 49, of El Paso, pleaded guilty in a Las Cruces courtroom Wednesday to several crimes in connection with the August 2005 molestation of a 14-year-old southern New Mexico boy, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported today on its Web site.

McKnight pleaded guilty to bribing a witness, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy to commit contributing to the delinquency of a minor and faces up to six years in prison, the Sun-News reported.

His plea follows last week's guilty plea by his wife, former El Paso teacher Donna McKnight, 53, who was charged with molesting the Chaparral boy at her mother-in-law's home last Aug. 7, according to the paper.

Ronald McKnight was in the home at the time and knew of the incidents, then tried to offer the boy and his mother payment for college tuition and "new four-wheelers," according to court documents cited by the Sun-News.

Donna McKnight is free on bond awaiting sentencing on Feb. 27, but a sentencing date for the husband hasn't been set, the paper reported.
