Balloons Fly -- Almost -- Without a Hitch With the exception of one reported "hard landing" at Carnuel and Old Route 66 this morning, hot-air balloons took off from about 40 schools in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho this morning and landed without a hitch.
The one balloon that reportedly came down hard never even called fiesta officials to report anything amiss and no one was reported injured, said spokeswoman Kathie Leyendecker.
