Annual ski swap this weekend

With all this talk of El Nina and temperatures earlier this week in the 70s, it may be hard to think about ski season.

But December and the traditional opening of the season is closer than you think. And this weekend brings an opportunity to gear up with the Sandia Peak Ski Patrol Ski Swap and Snow Show.

The public check-in for equipment is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. Doors open at 9 a.m. Saturday and close for the day at 4 p.m. The hours Sunday are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

15 percent of the price of each item will go to the Ski Patrol to fund medical supplies and required training.
